to develop their own energy, like we've seen in north dakota and pennsylvania, the revenues that come into the government help to build better roads, better schools, and keep taxes lower. that's an opportunity i hope we can have in south carolina. and when states can control more of their transportation and infrastructure dollars that can be more efficient and do much better than we are or what we can do now under the federal regime, so the principles of freedom are working all over the country. we need to spotlight them, showcase them, communicate them all over the country, so that people see that these ideas work and at the same time, they're going to be able to look to washington over the next few years and see that the ideas that are in place are not working. they're dragging us down. and so when washington hits a wall, which we know they will, the friends of freedom here in south carolina and all over the country are going to be ready not with political ideas, but with american ideas. ideas that we know are working and can point to and show that they're working for 100% of americ

to be watching over the next few days are several ripples of energy moving along the jet stream which is moving right across the country. the first one is going to happen tomorrow. it's just going to bring a little rain in the area, really not much at all, but it will kind of breeze on through. the next one will happen the day after christmas. not going to have a white christmas, not even going to have any problems on christmas day. the day after christmas, another bit of energy that's going to track across the mississippi river valley and move into our region could bring a little bit of a mixture, a wintery mix of sleet and maybe even a little rain, but temperatures are going to be up in the 40s, so that's the day after christmas. we'll keep you posted on that. it's not going to be a major problem, but you'll want to keep an eye on the roads if you're traveling early on wednesday and through about wednesday afternoon. sunset today is at 4:49, southwest winds on the bay at 10 knots. our forecast today up around 46 degrees we'll call it. the average

to gun control and there's been talk on energy legislation. but it looks like raising the debt ceiling is not part of the deal. that is four major political fights that the president has on his hands. what is going to get lost the longer this drags on? >> i think most of those things. look, if this drags on into the new year, this is going to be the focus up until the inauguration. and as you mentioned, not only the debt ceiling but also come march, you will have to figure out how to extend government spending for the rest of the fiscal year. and they don't, the government would shut down. there are major fiscal fights that need to be resolved beyond the immediate fiscal cliff. we are not even talking about the major policies that you are talking about. immigration reform and gun control legislation, those are things that can fall by the wayside if we are consumed by the fiscal talks which seems likely. >> it seems they crawl from one crisis to the next. thank you, sir, we will see you later in the hour. >> thank you. >> president obama will be talking about the fiscal cliff with david
